Wildlife Photography Workshops & Photo Tours
Terms and Conditions
By booking and paying for a wildlife photography workshop or photo tour with Richard Campion Photography, the participant confirms that they have read, understood and agreed to the following Terms and Conditions.
1. Booking and Payment
1.1. All workshops and photo tours must be paid for in full at the time of booking.
1.2. Once payment has been received, the participant will receive an email confirmation of their booking, together with an invoice and, where applicable, a receipt.
2. Participant Cancellations
2.1. If the participant requests to cancel a workshop or photo tour at least 14 days before the scheduled date, the participant will be entitled to a 50% refund of the booking fee.
2.2. If the participant cancels within 14 days of the scheduled date, no refund will be provided.
2.3. All cancellations must be made in writing by email to: richard@richardcampionphotography.com. The date on which the cancellation email is received will be used to determine whether the cancellation falls within the applicable cancellation period.
2.4. Participants are strongly advised to obtain suitable travel insurance at the time of booking. Travel insurance should, where appropriate, provide cover for cancellation, curtailment, illness, travel delays, missed connections, transport cancellations and other circumstances that may prevent the participant from attending.
3. Travel Arrangements and Travel Disruption
3.1. Unless expressly stated otherwise, the price of the workshop or photo tour does not include travel to or from the workshop or tour location, accommodation, meals or other personal expenses. These arrangements and costs are the responsibility of the participant.
3.2. The participant is responsible for making their own travel arrangements and for ensuring that they arrive at the agreed meeting point at the specified time.
3.3. If a participant is unable to attend, or is unable to arrive at the agreed meeting point on time, due to circumstances relating to their travel arrangements, including but not limited to flight cancellations or delays, train or public transport cancellations or delays, traffic, vehicle breakdowns, missed connections or other travel disruption, the participant will remain responsible for the booking in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
3.4. Richard Campion Photography will not be responsible for any additional costs, expenses or losses incurred by the participant as a result of such travel disruption, including additional travel, accommodation or other expenses.
3.5. Where the participant arrives late due to travel disruption, Richard Campion Photography will make reasonable efforts to provide the workshop or tour as planned. However, the workshop or tour may not be extended or rearranged to compensate for time missed, and no refund will be due in respect of any time missed as a result of the participant's late arrival.
3.6. Any additional costs incurred by Richard Campion Photography as a direct result of the participant's late arrival, failure to attend or travel disruption will be the responsibility of the participant, where such costs are reasonably and lawfully recoverable.
4. Changes to the Itinerary
4.1. Richard Campion Photography reserves the right to make reasonable amendments to the itinerary of a workshop or photo tour where circumstances require.
4.2. Where a proposed amendment is likely to materially affect the participant's experience, Richard Campion Photography will contact the participant as soon as reasonably practicable and, where appropriate, offer one of the following options:
(a) accept the proposed amendment;
(b) transfer the booking to an alternative date or suitable alternative workshop; or
(c) where appropriate, receive a refund.
5. Cancellation Due to Weather or Other Circumstances
5.1. Wildlife photography takes place outdoors and is dependent upon weather and other environmental conditions. Richard Campion Photography reserves the right to cancel, postpone or amend a workshop or photo tour where weather or other conditions make it unsafe, impractical or inappropriate to proceed.
5.2. Where a workshop or photo tour is cancelled by Richard Campion Photography due to adverse weather or other circumstances outside of Richard Campion Photography's reasonable control, the participant will be offered the opportunity to:
(a) rebook the workshop or photo tour for an alternative date; or
(b) transfer the booking to another suitable workshop or photo tour of the same value.
5.3. Where an alternative date or suitable alternative workshop cannot reasonably be provided, any refund or other remedy will be dealt with in accordance with the participant's statutory rights and applicable law.
6. Wildlife and Photography Opportunities
6.1. Participants acknowledge that all wildlife workshops and photo tours involve working with wild animals in their natural environment and not in a captive environment.
6.2. Wildlife sightings, behaviour and photographic opportunities cannot be guaranteed. Wildlife is unpredictable and may not appear, may appear only briefly, or may behave differently from what is anticipated.
6.3. The participant acknowledges that an element of flexibility, patience and understanding is therefore required when participating in wildlife photography workshops and photo tours.
6.4. In the unlikely event that the intended wildlife does not appear, Richard Campion Photography may, at its discretion, offer the participant an alternative workshop or future booking at a discounted price. Any such offer is at the discretion of Richard Campion Photography and does not constitute an automatic entitlement.
7. Personal Property and Additional Expenses
7.1. Participants are responsible for their own personal belongings, photographic equipment and other property throughout the workshop or photo tour.
7.2. To the extent permitted by law, Richard Campion Photography will not be responsible for loss of or damage to personal belongings or equipment belonging to the participant, except where such loss or damage is caused by the negligence or other legally actionable conduct of Richard Campion Photography.
7.3. Participants are responsible for their own personal expenses and any additional costs arising from their travel, accommodation or other arrangements, except where Richard Campion Photography is legally responsible for such costs.
8. Health, Safety and Personal Responsibility
8.1. Wildlife photography workshops and photo tours may take place in outdoor, rural or otherwise uneven environments and may involve walking, standing for extended periods, changes in weather and proximity to wild animals.
8.2. Participants are responsible for informing Richard Campion Photography in advance of any relevant requirements or limitations that may reasonably affect their ability to participate safely.
8.3. Participants must follow all reasonable safety instructions given by Richard Campion Photography during the workshop or photo tour.
8.4. Participants acknowledge that participation in outdoor wildlife photography involves inherent risks. Participants should take reasonable care of their own health and safety and ensure that they have appropriate clothing, footwear, equipment and any necessary personal medication.
8.5. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to exclude or limit any liability which cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
9. Confidentiality of Wildlife Locations
9.1. Participants agree to keep all wildlife locations visited during a workshop or photo tour confidential in order to protect wildlife and minimise unnecessary disturbance or pressure on wildlife populations.
9.2. Participants must not disclose, publish or otherwise identify the specific locations visited during their workshop or photo tour.
9.3. This restriction includes, but is not limited to, disclosure through social media, websites, photography forums, publications, maps or other public or private communications.
10. Commercial Use of Workshop Locations
10.1. Participants agree not to return to locations introduced or visited during the
