THE BASICS OF EDITING

Getting your images edited to a point where you feel happy with them can seem like a daunting task but it really doesn’t have to be.

The amount of editing you put into your images ultimately all comes down to personal preference. I’ve heard many people say that they enjoy the editing side of photography just as much as they enjoy capturing the image…

Honestly, like anything, you can make editing as complicated or as simple as you like and there are a few simple things you can do straight away that will really improve your images.

I offer this course on a session by session basis and each session is tailored to your specific requirements.

This is exactly how the RAW file looked before any editing. The image was captured at dusk, on a cold February evening. When I captured this the tones were much more blue and there was a cold feeling to the scene, which I wanted to portray in this image. This is where post processing comes in.

This final edit was achieved within less than 5 minutes, using Adobe Lightroom. This was a matter of cropping the image and adjusting a couple of sliders and playing with the tones. The final image represents much more of what I remember it feeling like on the evening.
